In spring of 2021, Randy Krum (organizer of the Dallas / Fort Worth Data Visualization Meetup) suggested that several meetups in North American timezones explore co-hosting events. We agreed! These "Joint Meetups" are held every few months. We hope these events will:
- help meetups find more speakers, especially those who do not live nearby
- help speakers to reach and get feedback from new and diverse audiences
- help speakers reach bigger audiences
- provide event content for groups that have been struggling to keep going during the pandemic
- encourage cross-pollination of data visualization ideas
